Pete opens this week's show wondering why he always introduces Elliott first. After getting that distraction out of the way, the guys discuss their fervent hopes for this year's World Series (Go Braves!), the history-making "final pitcher at-bat" on Sunday, Oli Marmol, and a host of other topics. Yep, it's a Grab Bag episode. Thank God we have the winter meetings and labor peace to look forward to!

Playoff baseball, umpires with lasers, reviewable plays and emotions were all on the table this week. Pete and Elliott thought they were going to have a nice, relaxing podcast talking about the Cubs offseason moves, the impending announcement of a new GM at 1060 West Addison, and the Ted Lasso season finale. Then the Shildt hit the fan. Brian Swope joins for an extended discussion of what went down on a Thursday afternoon in October, with a surprise vacation appearance from Ron!

A quick – albeit interesting – exit in the NL Wild Card Game brings a close to the 2021 season for the Team of Rivals. None of the guys were particularly surprised by the final outcome. (What did you expect facing a 106-win Dodgers team?) After a relatively short discussion of the game, the guys focus on where both teams came up short this season and where they think their front offices should (and not necessarily will) make moves this offseason.
